Lydia Jane Waring estate book, 1840-1847.

Estate book contains a copy of Lydia Jane [Ball] Waring's will (1840); copies of inventories and appraisals (1841) of goods and chattel at Comingtee Plantation (St. John's, Berkeley Co., S.C.) and at 21 East Bay Street, Charleston (S.C.); accounts with the estate; and the accounts of John B. Waring, Ann Simons Waring, and Francis Malbone Waring with their guardians Keating Simons Ball and Ann Deas. The inventory lists items such as furniture, bedding, dishes, glassware, sterling, and wine. Appraisements of slaves from Comingtee and Charleston list the names of individuals. Accounts contain the amount obtained from the wages of individually named slaves as well as expenses incurred by slaves.
